Yes I saw that on tv once awhile back and it was great to see. I had to work while Josh was young but did stop when he was in Kidnergarden part time. We saved a fortune on part time care!

I would love to stay home with Zachary. But everytime I think about it I go into panic mode, how would we pay for our house, van, insurance. [image] Thankfully my mom watches Zach or he goes to the babysitters which is only $25 a day, but boy, I would love to stay home, at least until he gets into school.

I have been very blessed to be able to stay home most of ds life so far. Last year I worked full time for half the year, I could see the difference in ds and dh, it was not pretty. We finally just figured out a way for me to stay home for now. Next school year I will be subbing in the school lunch room, same hours as ds and days off. That will help.

I've been blessed for the last 9 years to be able to stay home. I worked for a while after my second son was born, but it was just too much, plus by the time I figured in daycare, gas, and all the extras I wasn't making much. It can be rough being a SAHM but the rewards are too many to give it up.

My husband and I started living solely off oh his paycheck for about 4-5 months before Elli was born, and now I do work for my mom and watch my niece so that I can continue staying home with Elli. I cannot imagine my baby basically being raised by someone else- it just wasnt for me. I know there are plenty of women out there that want to work and I dont have anything bad to say about them. Its just a matter of personal preference. But in my opinion once you figure out cost of care, gas, and all the other things you have to buy in order to be away from your child (like bottles, formula, etc) it just doesnt seem like you are really making more money working. :)

* I dont mean to offend anyone with my opinion! Sorry if I did!

I have been home since my DD#1 was born. We too practiced by living off of one salary for 1 year beforehand. Figured out where to cut costs etc. We may not drive the nicest cars, or go on expensive vacations, but my daughters will remember being home with me each day, and the time we spend camping.
I agree it is not possible for some people to stay home, and I wish it were different. I cry each time I think of my kids in someone elses hands...

Becky~ It sounds like you have a great deal with your mom taking care of Zach. My mom does that for my sister.

Kimmie~ I too watched my nephew for one year to help out, and I am trying to find something on the side to help also.
