To be honest, I love Harry Potter, and can't wait until July when the final book comes out. Although, I'll be sad because it is the final book, and it will leak out before I've finished reading it, how it ends up .

Never been a fan of them. I have heard some of the negative stuff and might agree, but I really don't know enough to make a fair judgement.

I've enjoyed the ones I have read and the movies. With anything a child reads or sees you must make sure they can tell the difference between real and make believe.

I agree Donna. I think that's a big problem these days. Too many kids get confused on what's real and what's make-believe. Although, the last Harry Potter movie I saw scarred the begibbies out of me. Oh, and I know there another Harry Potter movie coming out in a few weeks!

I agree. In general, instead of sheltering our kids from things, we should teach them from the start that some things are real and some are make believe. It's a basic concept of life. Things that aren't real give kids a way to use their imaginations, it's a starting point to coming up with their own things. And trust me, 5yo boys can come up with some pretty wild stuff.
